Workplace Financial Education

Gardner Brown Consulting Inc. has the expertise to design and present successful educational sessions for employees.  Human Resources professionals consult Doreen about the design and delivery of lunch and learn sessions or longer programs on a range of topics.

The benefits to the organization include more productive employees that can focus on their work rather than the money issues in their families. There is evidence that financial education enhances work outcomes, such as higher productivity, reduced absenteeism, and reduced turnover (Dr Tom E Garman, 1999).   Workplace education helps employees make the best use of available benefits and opportunities to improve their financial well-being.  Financially satisfied employees are happy and productive; they rank their companies high and are more loyal. (Dr K Tahira Hira, 2005)

Research tells us that being financially literate and responsible is a life long process.  As personal and economic circumstances change we need new knowledge and skills to successfully manage our finances.

The techniques and tools learned in financial education prepare us to:

  • Discuss financial choices and money issues without discomfort
  • To make financial decisions
  • Deal with life’s events that affect finances, and changes in the general economy that affect personal financial situation.
